Thursday, April 13th is our SOAR game day

Along with our SOAR motto at Francis Wyman, students have shown acts of kindness. As a celebration, or reward, for all their efforts of kindness Thursday will be a game day. During their special time slot, students can choose to play knock-out basketball in the gym or play board games in the gym. Students are welcome to bring in a game from home that they can share with other first-graders. All games will be supervised by teaching staff.

Have a wonderful Spring vacation!

Chick Hatching!

Students were so excited to have the chicken eggs arrive in our classroom incubators on Monday. The eggs had been incubated for 20 days at the Science Center under the watchful eye of Ms. Pavlicek.
When we arrived in school on Tuesday, 6 of the eggs had hatched overnight. During the morning class, the seventh egg hatched! Below is the 3+ minutes video of the chick hatching. (Sorry for the so-so video quality...glare from the incubator cover interfered with a clear view.)

We continue to observe how the chicks are growing while they are in the brooder box, keeping warm under the heat lamp.
